just a quick update before work...

As I said, son is doing pretty well. He returned to campus yesterday, said it was a bit much getting to class and he was tired, but ok and not in too much discomfort. He has to come home Wednesday for a post-op visit with the doctor. Meanwhile, since he hasn't suffered terribly and has maintained a good sense of humor the whole while, I thought you might get a chuckle out of this photo. Boy! What a charmer he is. He says he figures once everyone sees how stylin' he is, this will be the next fad on campus!! As I said, he kept his sense of humor. I can't imagine that wearing this thing was much fun, but it did keep any bleeding from running down his face. Sinus surgery, yuck!

EW! I've done it TWICE. (I'd rather have natural child birth than have this surgery again!)

Glad he's doing OK, make sure he does his rinses VERY regularly.

Gail, I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother. I'm glad your son is recovering well from his surgery. You certainly have had a stressful month!

I know what he's going thru, I had this same surgery two years ago - and my tonsils out at the same time. His nose will feel wierd for a little while, but it's so worth it.
*hugs*

In highschool I had tear duct reconstruction and the doctor had my nose packed full of gause and what appeard to look like a 10 foot shoe lace thing... oh boy did it hurt like the dickens when he pulled it out!!! He took hold of it and then startd walking across the room as he realed it in with his hands as fast as he could! OUCH!!!

I hope your son doesn't have any of this packed in his nose... if so you better warn him! ~bonnie
