Finishes, featherweights and pincushions, oh my!
A few of you have shown pictures of your featherweights, so of course, I must show a picture of Blanche. Then someone else showed her pincushions and others promised to do the same, so here are mine- a lambswool with lanolin each for regular dressmaking pins and quilting pins and a little wrist cushion for when I mount the quilts on the quilting frame. Lastly, I finished the Turning Twenty last night. You may remember the top, which was a disappointment, and that I asked for advice on which backing to use. I took the advice that most gave and since I started with bright and outrageous, stayed bright and outrageous all the way through. I used to have a vintage Scotty camper, and this quilt was to be used in it for camping-a totally fun and don't worry about it quilt. We have a different camper now, but I think this will go in it anyway, even though the new one is much more serious and staid.

Blanche is cute! The quilt is bright and fun, too.
Blanche is a beauty! I have a mental 'wish list' of sewing machines, and a white featherweight is on that list. I'm unlikely to get one as they're sooooo rare here. I'm so pleased you have one of the little darlings, I know you take great care of her *s*. The quilt is lovely, and I adore your pincushions. The lanolin in the woollie would keep your pins in super condition, I should look for one here!
Have a great day
*hugs*

Oh, wow! Love Blanche. I must keep reminding myself that I do NOT need another FW, but a white one....hmmmm. I use those wool pincushions too. I have three stashed around at various sewing spots! Love your Turning 20, aren't they just fun?!?
Blanch is invited to have tea with the Duchess any time......
Blanche is a definite beauty. I know that you enjoy spending time together!
I wish I could use those woolie pincushions but unfortunately I'm allergic to lanolin. Sigh.
Love your pincushions. I just realized that I don't have a single one and I need some. Next thrift shop I will start looking. Or maybe the best thing is to make one.
Lovely YBR- and I have a wool pin cushion just like yours!
I really love your pincushions, do you have a pattern? Im just starting out. Nice to visit your blog..

I have seen those woolie pin cushions here and there and am always tempted... they look so neat! But, guess I am loyal to my oldie, but goodie. Great job on finishing your quilt - I hope you enjoy many nice camping trips in your camper!!! I have a small sewing machine for camping, but it isn't a FW (it's a Janoome and I love it, but there is something so sweet about those FW's!).
Cheers!

Blanche is a beauty! She looks so virtuous, unlike my Hussy. (I'll bet you wouldn't catch Blanche at Hollywood & Vine! LOL!)
Love your quilt! It's one of those that just makes you smile!

Love your Turning Twenty quilt. Hope you do use it for the camper. We have a camper trailer and now after reading your post perhaps i should make some for our camper.
The machine looks adorable, and I like the pincushions.
I've got some luscious FQs for a Turning Twenty, but I like your brights.
Your featherweight is so so beautiful. Shows how little I know about fws, I thought they were all black.
great pics! love the quilts and featherweights!

I have never seen a white Featherweight. Now I am really wanting one! (I have an old model 99 though). I love the pincushion and really want one of those, too. Thanks for posting the pictures, love your blog.
